New Yorker in Tondo

The play "NEW YORKER IN TONDO" of Sacred Heart School - Ateneo de Cebu was very interesting to watch. It gave the viewers laughs, and to some, a reflection to themselves of what kind of people they are. The play was about a Filipino girl named Kikay who stayed in New York for a year, and finally made her return to Tondo. She forgot about all her childhood memories in Tondo and disgusted everything, even her families clothes! She became a spoiled brat. Her friends were eventually able to change her back to her old good self after a fight.

The character that i liked the most was Kikay's brother. He was very funny, clumsy, and always brought a barbie doll with him. Although i did not really see his true purpose in the movie, i could say he was the entertainer of the show. He constantly made comments as people were talking and he overreacted a lot of times. He was the star of the show!

The story gave a realization to some Filipinos abroad who changed their attitude towards their own country, the Philippines. This play is good for those Filipinos who look down upon their own country just because they have been to another. What i really like about the play is the impact it gives to the people. Overall i would give it a 10/10 because it was PERFECT!
